HTC TyTN II (a.k.a HTC P4550, Vodafone v1615 and HTC Kaiser) is one of the new Pocket PC mobiles released by HTC. The HTC P4550 is loaded with an excellent range of features and specifications. It is a Pocket PC phone which has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, built in GPS, has support for quad band GSM and tri-band UMTS, 3G/HSDPA, 2 cameras – one on the front and a 3 mega-pixels camera on the back. The HTC TyTN II has a unique tilting touch screen which makes it easier to use the phone and work in confort. The HTC TyTN II is running Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional and has a 400 MHZ Qualcomm MSM7200 processor. The memory of HTC P4550 is 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM. For more storage the HTC P4550 has a Micro SD expansion slot. The touch display unit of this HTC is 2.8 inch TFT LCD at QVGA Resolution (240 x 320).The dimensions of HTC P4550 (TyTN II) are similar to HTC TyTN with the difference of 2 mm in thickness in favour of HTC TyTN II (112 X 59 X 19 mm), the weight is at 176g with battery. HTC TyTN II Vs ETEN M700 & HTC TyTN
Two other similar devices with the HTC TyTN II in the market are the HTC TyTN and ETEN M700. The ETEN Glofiish M700 is a device manufactured by ETEN. The M700 has a sliding QWERTY keyboard and has also a built-in GPS receiver like the HTC TyTN II. The ETEN M700 though runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes with 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB RAM while the HTC TyTN II is running Windows Mobile 6.0 and has 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM. In terms of size and weight, the HTC TyTN II is 5 mm smaller in length but 10g more in weight. Other major differences between the three devices (HTC TyTN II, ETEM M700, HTC TyTN) is the fact that the screen of HTC TyTN II can tilt up enabling you to see the device from a different view just like you do with a laptop computer. This is particularly useful when you want to position the phone on desk to check your emails watch some video or type some text. Another difference between HTC TyTN and HTC TyTN II is the position of the SIM Card Slot. On HTC TyTN II the sim card slot is convinently positioned behind the screen and can be accessed very easily by just sliding the keyboard to open.
