i-mate Ultimate 6150

The i-mate Ultimate 6150 is a new (upcoming) pocket pc device from i-mate. The i-mate Ultimate 6150 is part of the new Ultimate series introduced by i-mate. The Ultimate family consists of a collection of five devices in various form factors to suit individual preferences, from classic bar to PDA to a notebook replacement and was designed to provide the latest and best in phone and PDA technology. From the 530MHz processor, to the XGA direct video out, from HSDPA connectivity to the 262k colour VGA LCD touch screen, every component of each device is specified at a very high level. The devices will be available gradually from the second quarter (end) of 2007.

The Ultimate 6150 will be running Windows Mobile 6.0 and will carry an Intel Bulverde processor at 520 MHz. The i-mate ultimate 6150, unlike the other models of the ultimate series, does not have a keypad, numberpad or keyboard. The i-mate ultimate 6150 has a big 2.8 inch bright touch screen with a series of five buttons and a five-way joystick (used for navigation) below. The imate 6150 is the new version of the i-mate JAM and i-mate JAMin and it also looks very similar to i-mate PDA-N (a Windows Mobile 5.0 pocket pc with GPS).

In terms of dimensions the i-mate ultimate 6150 is 118.5mm in height and 60.5mm in width. Compared to other similar new devices, like the ETEN M700, we can see that the i-mate 6150 is a 1 mm bigger and 1.5mm wider. This is normal as the i-mate ultimate 6150 has a big 2.8 inch display. The absense of a sliding keyboard makes the 6150 a relatively thin device with 15.7mm.

The specifications of i-mate Ultimate 6150 will include Quad-Band GSM / EDGE connectivity and Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA. The memory of the device will be 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM and the expansion slot will be a MicroSD. There will be also support for bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi.

The display will be a 2.8 inch touch screen , VGA with 262K colors. There is also a 2 mega-pixels camera on the device and an FM radio.
