Pocket PC Phones: i-mate JAQ4
i-mate will release in February 2007 two new devices the
i-mate JAQ4 and i-mate SP JAM. The i-mate JAQ4 looks very interesting and it seems that it will be the first device by i-mate (after they no longer brand HTC devices) to offer something new and innovative to pocket pc users. The imate JAQ4 will feature a 2.8 inch display (320 x 240 resolution) and will support GSM (QuadBand),GPRS and EDGE. For connectivity the device will support Wi-Fi and bluetooth 1.2. What is really suprising for the i-mate JAQ4 is the built in GPS receiver. Other devices that have a QWERTY keyboard on the front and a built-in GPS receiver is currently the
HP iPAQ hw6915. It looks like a nice attempt from i-mate to re-gain market value and prestige since the latest devices released by i-mate have nothing new or innovative to offer. From the specifications of the upcoming i-mate JAQ4 we can discuss the support for Bluetooth 1.2 instead of Bluetooth 2.0. We have no information about the processor of this device, a factor that can really make the difference as to whether the i-mate JAQ4 will be able to challenge the HP
