XDA-developers.com is described as a portal, linking to key areas of HTC related product information. Starting life as a pure software developers forum it has quickly gained in popularity amongst the HTC user community, and most content seems gathered around user interest and discussion. The XDA name was an original desigantion given to HTC devices by O2.
Informative Forums
This lively and up to date site is mostly focussed around the forums, you will often see 3,000 users on the site at any one time. There is some incredibly useful information for HTC owners. For instance the Touch Diamond already has a large 'Tweak List' available to show you how to alter the set up for some of the annoying defaults such as; Preventing the screen switching off during a call, Turning off start up animation, Boosting the Touch FLO 3D performance etc. Other busy topics are Networking, WiFi, getting Bluetooth working and sourcing that hard to find replacement battery.
Complete HTC database
The Wiki section of the site is a complete database of HTC products, with all the base information you might expect including photos and specifications, but also includes practical comments regarding problems you may encounter with a device. I found the 'also known as' list a useful lookup. T-Mobile for example offer the MDA Compact lV - its actually a renamed HTC Touch Diamond!
The comprehensive database of products seems to be linked across to pdadb.net which offers raw technical specifications on pretty much any pda device you can think of.
In conclusion, we can highly recommend xda-developers to anyone already owning, or interested in buying an HTC product.
