Two other similar devices with the HTC TyTN II in the market are the HTC TyTN and ETEN M700. The ETEN Glofiish M700 is a device manufactured by ETEN. The M700 has a sliding QWERTY keyboard and has also a built-in GPS receiver like the HTC TyTN II. The ETEN M700 though runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes with 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB RAM while the HTC TyTN II is running Windows Mobile 6.0 and has 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM. In terms of size and weight, the HTC TyTN II is 5 mm smaller in length but 10g more in weight.

Other major differences between the three devices (HTC TyTN II, ETEM M700, HTC TyTN) is the fact that the screen of HTC TyTN II can tilt up enabling you to see the device from a different view just like you do with a laptop computer. This is particularly useful when you want to position the phone on desk to check your emails watch some video or type some text.

Another difference between HTC TyTN and HTC TyTN II is the position of the SIM Card Slot. On HTC TyTN II the sim card slot is convinently positioned bbehind the screen and can be accessed very easliy by just sliding the keyboard to open.
