The i-mate KJAR is i-mate's reply to the newly released devices with a full slide our QWERTY keyboard (ETEN M700, HTC P4350). The i-mate KJAR is running Windows Mobile 5.0 Phone Edition, AKU 3.0. The processor is a 32bit Texas Instrument OMAP 850 running at 200 MHz. The memory of the imate kjar is 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM. One of the factors that differentiate this i-mate KJAR with other Pocket PC Phones is the fact that the i-mate KJAR has 2 displays. The main display is 2.8 inch touchscreen with 320 x 240 resolution and the secondary display (located on the front of the device) is a monochrome OLED 2 scales with 96 x 39 resolution.
In terms of connecivity the i-mate KJAR is Quad Band GSM (GSM 900MHz, GSM 1800MHz, GSM 1900MHz ) / CSD /GPRS /EDGE. There is also built-in Wi-Fi (802.11B & 802.11G) and bluetooth 1.2. The expansion slot is a miniSD card.
The dimesions of the i-mate KJAR are 113 X 76 X 19.5 mm. It is not a big device, in fact it is smaller in height and weight than the ETEN M700 but it is larger in width.

Another thing that differentiates i-mate KJAR from other devices is the way the device opens (to show the QWERTY keyboard). The keyboard does not slide-out like the ETEN M700 or HTC TyTN but rarther the top part of the device opens just like you open a wallet. On the one side there is the display and on the other side you can see the keyboard. When the device is closed on the front panel there is a second display and the answer and end call buttons.
The i-mate KJAR has an innovative design. Its size is, in our opinion, with-in acceptable levels; and the set of connectivity options it offers are satisfactory. We will post a review of the device once it is officially released.
